Three years ago, following a hospital stay due to blood clots on both lungs, it was found that I had very low iron levels and I had two iron infusions. Unfortunately, the iron levels weren't maintained which led to an appointment for internal investigation, cameras and a barium x-ray, thankfully nothing bad was found but my iron levels were still low. Over the last four years my appetite, not great at the best of times, has plummeted together with an increase of pain, leading to a diet of toast, sandwiches and take-aways. Last year I saw an article about an eating disorder, Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) and realised that fits me exactly. I did some research and decided to try food replacement sachets and Shake That Weight had some of the most tasty. I checked with my doctor who didn't see any medical reasons not to give it a go, so I did! Since I started, I've lost about a stone and three inches from my waist. To be honest, I'm not very strict, for example I don't buy skimmed milk now as it was going off so I'll use semi skimmed as it's in the fridge anyway. The main reason for getting these shakes was to get some nutrients into me, losing weight is great but it wasn't my main push. I had a blood test a while ago and the nurse couldn't get over my health - everything that should be up, was up, including my iron levels. They are so good that I no longer need to take iron supplements. I can't describe how I feel, I'm still in pain, still stiffness in my joints but inside I feel different, that's the only word I can think of - different in an entirely good way, a great way in fact. There is no other reason that I can think of to feel so much better, other than the goodness that the shakes give me. I don't like the meal replacements, but that's not the taste, going back to ARFID, I don't like the texture but that's my issue, not the sachets themselves. It's great to eat chocolate bars and know they are giving me nutrients! I just treated myself to a milk frother and the mint chocolate shake with warm, frothy milk is ace! I know some people are negative about meal replacement plans but I think that's because some will take things too far and only live on them, not eating anything else, if anybody isn't sure, they can always check with their doctor. I am very happy with my weight loss, I want it go to slowly as in the past I've often lost weight quickly but it goes back on quickly too. On the whole, Shake That Weight has helped me become more healthy (no more iron supplements), lose weight and get good nutrients inside me! Brilliant 👏

Day 1. Strawberry shake for breakfast and vanilla for lunch. I’m looking forward to my mid afternoon shake of mint chocolate and saving chocolate for dinner. Based on the 2 shakes I have already had the taste is amazing, definitely filling. I ordered 4 weeks supply of mainly shakes and some bars have a good feeling I am going to be able to stick to it - hope this is reflected in my weight loss. Price a little more than I expected but manage to get 15% off voucher.

I've only recently started my journey with the products, but so far I've been impressed by the quality of the shakes and the bars. I opted for the shakes that are mixed with milk, as previously had the water mix ones. In my opinion the milk mix ones are nicer, smoother and almost like a smoothie. I've also had several different flavours of bars and they have all been excellent. Early days, but so far so good.
