Ingredients

  • 1 cup steel cut oats
  • 3 cups water
  • 1/2 cup dried apples, chopped
  • 1/2 cup dried cherries (pitted)
  • big dash of apple pie spice

Method

  1. drizzle honey (1/2 tsp per person) skim or soy milk (1/2 cup per person)
  2. Place the oats, water, dried fruit and spice into a crock pot. Cover with a lid and turn on high. Cook for 2 hours. The oatmeal is done when the water is absorbed and the oatmeal is thick. Serve warm with milk (use 1/2 cup skim milk per person) and a little drizzle of honey or chill for later use.
