How to follow the  Newcastle University Diet Plan with Shake That Weight

Example Day

 3x Shake That Weight Diet Shakes

Mixed with Unsweetened Soya Milk (or skimmed milk*). Mixing our shakes with Unsweetened Soya milk brings the calories to around 200 calories, varying slightly by flavour.

*Skimmed milk naturally has a higher sugar count from the lactose. Studies do suggest that this should not affect blood sugar due to its low glycaemic index as it breaks down slowly. You should consult your doctor.

200 Calories of Green Vegetables

A total of 250g per day. Ideally you should consume them in 3 separate portions. You can find the Newcastle University recipe ideas here. Shake That Weight also have some recipe ideas here under Salads and Vegetables section

Drink 3 litres of water

Other non sugary fluids are allowed such as herbal teas. Please ensure you drink at a maximum rate of 800ml per hour

Important info

During the first few days of the diet, you may experience some symptoms like headache, dizziness, tiredness, hunger, feeling of cold. These are expected as your body adjust to using your fat store as energy source. The symptoms will improve after 2-4 days. It is important to keep
up your fluid intake and remember to wrap up warmly. Do not drink any alcohol. Only light exercise is advised and you should not start a new exercise regime whilst dieting.

Have a self prepared 600kcal meal

You can have this at any time in the day that suits you. Most people prefer to have it in the evening. Try to make healthy choices and limit carbohydrates to a maximum of 55g for the meal. Stay hydrated

Drink a minimum of 2 ½ litres of water daily.

Snacking

Not essential but if you feel the need to snack, you are allowed 1 Shake That Weight high protein and low carb snack daily. Snacks include Shake That Weight wafers, crisps and zippers. See our range here.
